Filled with rich history and breathtaking landscapes, Ireland has been an inspiration for writers and artists for hundreds of years. Ireland is an island the size of Maine, yet it has produced some of the worlds greatest writers including Jonathan Swift, James Joyce, William Butler Yeats, Oscar Wilde, and Samuel Beckett.
Come with us on our 10-day journey to learn what makes Ireland such an inspiration as we explore historic, cultural, and literary sites across the country.
This program is open to all students, faculty, staff, friends, and family members who want to join us. Enrollment in LIT 330 during Spring 2019 is highly recommended, but not required. Students who take the course can use Financial Aid to cover the costs of the program.
The faculty leading the group will be Dr. Barry Devine and Dr. David Kimmel. Dr. Devine has lived in Ireland and has traveled with Heidelberg students on a month-long trip to China. Dr. Kimmel has led or participated in 5 Faculty-Led travel adventures with Heidelberg, including trips to China, England, and Germany.
