'Berg to celebrate 10 years of Harry Potter Fest

Heidelberg’s Harry Potter Fest is about to celebrate its10th anniversary, and there are some wonderfully creative and fun activities planned to commemorate the milestone next week. Join us for a week of festivities as we celebrate Harry Potter’s Wizarding World!

Here’s a rundown of the week’s events:

Parkhurst Programs

Looking for Kowalski’s Quality Baked Goods, from the Fantastic Beasts series? Stop by The HeidelBean! They will have some classic Kowalski baked items for sale, as well as Wizarding World inspired drinks.
Berg Bistro 1850 will be the perfect place to go this week if you want the Three Broomsticks atmosphere and a refreshing mug of butter beer. You’ll find yourself in the Leaky Cauldron if you’re in Rock Creek Café!

Stop by any of these locations during Heidelberg’s Harry Potter Fest Week for Harry Potter-inspired food specials and get 10% off if wearing a Heidelberg Harry Potter shirt! 

Monday, February 22

Wizard Scavenger Hunt kicks off! 

Follow Student Engagement on Twitter at @BergStudentLife to get daily clues about what to hunt! Snap a photo with the scavenger item and submit your photo on the HPF Google Form, linked in every clue tweet. Speed matters! You get more points the sooner you submit your photo. All clues expire at the end of the day they’re posted.

Clues will be tweeted Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 10 a.m., 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. 

This event is restricted to Heidelberg students. Winners will be notified on Monday, March 1.

Virtual Costume Contest

Enter the Costume Contest by emailing your photo to engagement@heidelberg.edu by Thursday at 5 p.m. with your name, character name and category you’re entering. All photos will be shared on Heidelberg’s HPF event page for voting on Friday!

Heidelberg Harry Potter T-Shirts

Commemorative Heidelberg Harry Potter shirts will be on sale in Student Engagement throughout the week, including all past designs for $5 each and this year’s new design for $10 each. 

Tuesday, February 23
Get Your House Scarf
Stop by the Commons between 5-8 p.m. to get a Hogwarts House Scarf! We’ll also offer a sorting quiz for those who don’t know their house.

This event is restricted to members of the Heidelberg community. Students in isolation or quarantine on Heidelberg’s campus at the time of the event can request a scarf to be delivered by emailing engagement@heidelberg.edu.

Wednesday, February 24

Harry Potter Craft at Home

Make your own Prophecy Ball! Register using this link and you can pick up a craft kit in Student Engagement anytime between 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Wednesday with everything you need - you just supply the prophecy. This event requires pre-registration.

Students in isolation or quarantine on Heidelberg’s campus at the time of the event can request a craft kit to be delivered by emailing engagement@heidelberg.edu.

Thursday, February 25

Harry Potter Trivia Night!

Students, faculty and staff and alumni are encouraged to join us at 7 p.m. for a virtual trivia night, all about the Harry Potter Wizarding World! This event requires pre-registration. Use this link to sign up.

Register your team of 1-4 participants by Tuesday, February 23, and have the opportunity to win great prizes!
