Speech Team victorious at Ohio University

Ohio University played host to schools from South Dakota to Ohio this past weekend at their annual 1804 Speech Tournament. While there, schools from Ohio also participated in the Ohio Novice State Championship Tournament. Coach Dan Higgins noted, "Competition was fierce as the students are so well rehearsed at this point in the season."

Bringing home honors for Heidelberg were Julia Schaefer, who placed 6th in Programmed Oral Interpretation. First-year speaker Kelsey Stanfield had a wonderful showing at the State Novice tournament, where she placed 2nd in Broadcasting and 3rd in Persuasion. As a team, Heidelberg placed 2nd in the novice competition.

Next on the Berg's speaking docket is the State Varsity Championship Tournament, hosted by Otterbein University, on Feb. 19.
