    From this point forward, all letterhead orders will be fulfilled by the Print Shop. You can order and pick up plain letterhead, or you can send your file to printshop@heidelberg.edu and it will be printed on letterhead. Marketing & Communication Services will still supply templates for individual offices.

    Registration for summer classes opens up March 19 and for fall semester on March 26. Textbook orders for both semesters are due to the Bookstore by Thursday, March 1.

    If you have an adjunct instructor in your department, please make sure they have the information to order their textbooks.

    Instructions for placing your orders are as follows: Go to Server Six, click on Bookstore, then Forms, Book Order and Return Forms, Book Order Form. Complete the form and email it to Gail Roberts at groberts@heidelberg.edu.

    If you do not have access to Server Six, email Gail and she will email you back a form. Thank you for your help.

    Y needs volunteers for daddy/daughter dance

    The YMCA in Tiffin is hosting a Daddy/Daughter Dance on Feb. 24. They need volunteers to help set up/decorations, chaperones, and breakdown/clean-up for the dance.

    Here are the time slots:

    • Set up/decorating: 4:30-6:15 p.m.
    • Chaperones: 6:30-8:30 p.m.
    • Break-down/clean-up: 8:30-9:30 p.m.

    Volunteer opportunity to serve homeless

    The Heidelberg University Civic Engagement Department is going to be serving at Seneca County Homeless Coalition, which is an outreach to homeless people in the area designed to acquaint these people with local services that are available to assist them.

    This volunteer opportunity will take place on Wednesday, March 21, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at First United Methodist Church on Sandusky Street. We are looking for volunteers who could assist as greeters and "hosts" for these folks, guiding them to the food offerings and the various service agencies who will be taking part. We are asking volunteers to work in 2- to 3-hour shifts if possible. In order to get T-shirts, for those wishing to do childcare, background checks can be arranged (at no cost to the students).

    It is time to file your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2018-2019 academic year at www.fafsa.gov. Please complete the FAFSA by April 1, 2018. Financial aid awards will be available online in OASIS. We will notify you through your Heidelberg email address when your award is ready. Your tuition payment plan will be an attachment to your email and must be returned. Take care of your financial arrangements before going home for the summer.

During the day, the group will plant trees for land reforestation with Common Ground Relief. The cost is less than $400. Depart Saturday, March 3 and return Saturday, March 10.

    Have you ever had the need to show off your professional ping pong skills in front of a large group of people, but could never find your shining moment? Sign up for our Ping Pong Tournament to have a chance at campus-wide fame and a $25 gift certificate to the University Bookstore!

    The tournament will take place from 3-4:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, in Saurwein.

    Register to be included in the tournament bracket ahead of time, or simply check with Julie Arnold by 3 p.m. the day of the tournament for open spots.

    RSVP for Black Issues Conference

    Bowling Green State University will host its annual Black Issues Conference on Saturday, Feb. 17, from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. The conference will include presentations addressing the following issues: contemporary African American art, politics, race in higher education, gender and the representation of black culture, among others.

    If you are interested in attending, please fill out this form confirming your registration information. The deadline to sign up is Wednesday, Feb. 14.

    Social Justice Teach-In

    The 18th Annual Social Justice Teach-In—Shooting Without Bullets: Creative Responses to State Violence and Social Injustices, will be held this Saturday, Feb. 10, at Case Western Reserve University.

    This event is free for students and $10 for non-students. Those who plan to attend register here by noon on Friday, Feb. 9. You must also sign a form for transportation in Campus Center 306 as soon as possible.

    A van will depart from campus at 8:30 a.m. and return by 5:30 p.m. Meet in University Commons at 8:15 a.m. Saturday morning.

The Office of Multicultural Student Affairs and the Black Heritage Library & Multicultural Center invite you to come view this documentary based on the true story of a 1964 voter registration drive in which a large group of college-aged civil rights workers organized and descended on the state of Mississippi in what became known as “Freedom Summer.” Aimed at increasing black voter registration in Mississippi, the Freedom Summer workers included black Mississippians and more than 1,000 out-of-state, predominately white volunteers.
