Summer camp to explore health care professions
Current high school students who will graduate between 2022 and 2025 have a unique opportunity to explore various health care fields – including athletic training, physician, physician assistant, nursing, nurse practitioner, dietitian and chiropractor – by participating in Heidelberg University’s Health Professions Camp 2022 this summer.
The Health Sciences Division will conduct the three-day residential camp from Wednesday, July 20 (beginning at 6 p.m.) to Saturday, July 23. An additional CPR and first-aid course will be offered from noon-5 p.m. on the last day of the camp.
The camp will provide both classroom and hands-on learning activities such as casting, a team competition and much more, according to camp organizer Dr. Jena Suffel, Clinical Education coordinator, assistant professor of Athletic Training and Health Sciences and Clinical Athletic Trainer.
Registration is now open for the camp. The cost is $250 and includes housing, meals and all activities. There is an additional $50 fee for participants who take the CPR and first-aid course. To sign up for the camp, visit www.heidelberg.edu/healthcamp.
The deadline to register is Monday, June 20. For additional information or questions, contact Jena at jsuffel@heidelberg.edu or call (419) 448-2008.
