The Franklin County Sheriff's Office created Operation Street Smart in July 2002 as a way to take community oriented policing (COP) to a new level. The goal of Street Smart is to provide current and up-to-date narcotics information on trends, terminology, paraphernalia, and physiological effects to those individuals who deal with addicted populations and today’s youth. This is an excellent training for anyone planning to work with individuals involved in the criminal justice system, as counselors, as educators, and for anyone who has concerns about loved ones struggling with addiction.
