Ethics Bowl Team successful in regional competition

This year's Ethics Bowl Team, sponsored by the School of Business & Technology (BAE219), sent seven undergraduates of various majors to the regional competition at Oakland University last weekend. The Heidelberg team fared well, ranking third out of 11 regional schools. This third-place rank earns the ’Berg team an alternate spot at national competition in Atlanta in February.

Competing for Heidelberg were: Zak Hahn, Penelope Christian, Emma Baughman, Katie Bauman, Rebekah Marstaller, Em Swain and Reece Schmidt.

Intercollegiate Ethics Bowl is an undergraduate debate competition where teams analyze and defend ethically challenging cases. Ethical cases included whether corporations or government should control speech on social media platforms, and whether private-party location tracking data should be shared with law enforcement.
