Faculty Pursuits: Week of Nov. 17, 2025
Sean Joyce (Computer Science) recently participated in a live, Q&A-style Zoom session with computer science legend Dr. Donald Knuth, author of the seminal series The Art of Computer Programming, organized by Turing Minds. Widely regarded as one of the founders of modern computer science, Knuth is known for his groundbreaking work in algorithm analysis, the development of TeX, and his enduring influence on programming as both a science and an art. The event offered a rare opportunity to engage directly with such a pivotal figure, and Sean described the chance to ask questions and hear Knuth’s reflections as an inspiring and unforgettable experience.
During the week of November 10, Dr. Lisa Kahle-Piasecki (Business Administration) had the honor of participating in the International Faculty Week at Tecnológico de Monterrey, Querétaro, Mexico campus. She was one of 12 faculty members selected from around the world to spend the week guest lecturing for students, collaborating with researchers, and participating in professional workshops.
