Narcan vending machine available on campus

Heidelberg University now offers a FREE Narcan vending machine at our Campus Center!

The machine is located in the lower level of Campus Center and can be accessed by students, faculty, and staff.

Narcan is a life-saving opioid overdose reversal drug and works by acting as an opioid antagonist to reverse the effects of an overdose. Commonly used opioids include heroin, fentanyl, and prescription painkillers. Narcan is administered as a nasal spray and can restore normal breathing within minutes if given promptly, with no risk of harm or addiction to those without opioids in their system. Narcan is a great rescue tool to keep in your first aid kit or with vehicle safety supplies in the event you come across someone who has suffered an overdose, or someone is accidentally exposed to an opioid.

To access Narcan from the vending machine, simply enter the number that corresponds with the product of your selection, and the machine will dispense it, free of charge.

The vending machine was purchased by the Seneca County General Health District through a grant with the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department and is one of four Narcan vending machines now located in Seneca County.
