Rock Creek Cafe and Bakery: Grand Opening Monday!

On Monday, January 15th, in the midst of all of the MLK Jr. Day celebrations and activities that will be happening on campus, a new take on an old favorite dining location will open its doors. The Rock Creek Cafe and Bakery, located on the first floor of campus center, will bring some new flavor to campus.

“Our inspiration for Rock Creek Cafe & Bakery was a Panera-type setting,” Amanda Overy, Marketing Coordinator for Parkhurst Dining at Heidelberg, shared. “For the Heidelberg community and the surrounding community to sit down and enjoy a restaurant setting for lunch.” Similar to cafes like Panera, Rock Creek will be serving artisan sandwiches, flatbreads, and salads. These offerings are similar to what made Rock Creek a popular dining location with our students during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Lest we forget, the “bakery” portion of the title: dessert is on the menu! “Cereal-inspired cupcakes, and other desserts like edible cookie dough will be exclusively available at Rock Creek Cafe and Bakery,” Amanda explained. Additionally, Parkhurst at Heidelberg has a new partnership in Tractor Beverages, a company dedicated to sustainably producing organic juice and teas.

Be sure to stop by Rock Creek Cafe’s grand opening, on January 15th and grab lunch or dessert! The Rock Creek Cafe will be open from 11 AM to 4 PM on Mondays through Thursdays, and 11 AM to 2 PM on Fridays. They accept Berg Bucks, Flex dollars, cards and cash.
