FACULTY PURSUITS: Week of March 20, 2023

Dr. Sarah Lazzari (criminology, sociology) gave two presentations at the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences in Maryland last week. The first presentation, in collaboration with 'Berg alumna Brooke Franz '22 and other colleagues, titled Peer Mentors as Prison Volunteers: Building Bridges Between Institutions and Communities. Brooke used data from this research for her final Senior Honors presentation last year.

Sarah's second presentation drew lots of interest from conference attendees. It is titled High Impact Teaching Practice: Breaking Barriers, One Letter at a Time.

Doug Kane

Dr. Doug Kane, (biology, ecology) was invited recently to present at Kent State University's Department of Biological Sciences seminar. His talk, titled Cuyahoga Chloride Conundrum: Why Have Chloride Concentrations Increased in Some Ohio Rivers? was mostly based on his recent article published in the Journal of Great Lakes Research
