Tiffin holds first Pride event

More than 200 community members participated in the first Tiffin Community Pride Picnic on Sunday at Hedges-Boyer Park. The event had a strong Heidelberg presence, including the initial organizing crew of Dr. Meagan McBride, alumna Cheyanne Thacker and community member Gabrielle Mitchell.

Early on, the organizing crew reached out to community members and student groups the organizers grew to include Courtney Hughes Kesnich and Quinn Sparks (MAC students), Berg Allies President Ethan Miller, SLAHM President Samantha Bensman and alumna Meredith Lucius.

Those in attendance, including a number of ‘Berg faculty, staff and students, shared food and fellowship. Other activities included face painting, yoga and raffles. The raffles raised $164, which will be donated to Harvey House and leftover food, water and paper products were donated to The Hub.
