Suicide prevention training open to all
All Heidelberg faculty and staff are invited to attend an upcoming QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Suicide Prevention Training on Monday, May 18th at 11:00 AM in Herbster Chapel. This evidence-based training is designed to equip participants with practical skills to recognize the warning signs of suicide, engage in supportive conversation, and connect individuals with appropriate resources.
QPR is often described as the mental health equivalent of CPR—simple, effective, and potentially life-saving. Whether you work directly with students or support the campus in another capacity, this training offers valuable tools to strengthen our shared commitment to student well-being.
In addition to attending the training, there is an opportunity for a limited number of interested individuals to become certified QPR Gatekeepers. This certification would allow you to deliver QPR trainings within your departments or across campus and in other settings. The cost of this presenter training will be fully covered through a mental health grant, making it an excellent opportunity to expand our campus-wide impact.
Thank you for your continued dedication to fostering a safe and supportive campus community.
