Greek Life Block Party

On Tuesday, Heidelberg’s Greek groups got together in a COVID-friendly manner to promote themselves and reach out to new and returning students. The Greek Life Block Party was located outside of Hornemann Refectory with tables spaced out on both sides of the street. Each group was then able to answer any questions and provide their group's information to those interested. As people visited each table, they received a stamp to be entered into a raffle after getting four stamps. 

Greek life is a big part of residence life at Heidelberg. With 10 groups available, there is a home for everyone. Each group stands for their own values, philanthropy, colors, traditions and more. Whether you are a new student on campus or aa returning student, Greek life is here to provide you with a second home. 

Every fall the groups hold recruitment events where potential new members can get to know the group while attending a fun event. It is encouraged that you attend multiple events and ones from each group in order to find that perfect match. Even with the unfortunate circumstances of COVID-19, the groups have found innovative ways to stay in contact with each other as well as potential new members. 

Keep an eye out for news about upcoming events and how to attend them. You will be given the opportunity to join a group either this fall or spring when the new member process rolls around. Until then, keep your minds open, attend events, read up on groups, get connected and you may find your forever brothers or sisters.
