The Franklin County Sheriff's Office created Operation Street Smart in July 2002 as a way to take community oriented policing (COP) to a new level. The goal of Street Smart is to provide current and up-to-date narcotics information on trends, terminology, paraphernalia, and physiological effects to those individuals who deal with addicted populations and today’s youth. This is an excellent training for anyone planning to work with individuals involved in the criminal justice system, as counselors, as educators, and for anyone who has concerns about loved ones struggling with addiction.

The next deadline for grants from the Pepsi Fund and the Martha and Ernest Hammel Student Research Fund to support student research and/or travel to professional conferences is October 1, 2020.
Keep the Castle Connected provides students a way to remain connected during quarantine. Student will have daily opportunities to connect with a Stoner Health and Counseling Center staff as well as other students. Students will be able to meet via Zoom and be presented with a brief Mindfulness activity and then engaged in a light hearted discussion/conversation. These sessions are not therapy sessions and are meant to allow students to remain connected to others on campus. Students will need to email counseling@heidelberg.edu

The deadline for registering by mail to vote is (postmarked by) Monday, October 5, 2020. The deadline to register in-person to vote is Monday, October 5, 2020. The deadline to request a ballot by mail is (received by) Saturday, October 31, 2020. The early voting period runs from Tuesday, October 6, 2020, to Monday, November 2, 2020, but dates and hours may vary based on where you live. In support of the university’s diversity initiatives, we have an intercultural display of flags hanging in The University Commons. Flags represent the countries of origin/citizenship of enrolled students, full-time faculty and staff as well as diverse cultural groups. We would like to update the current display.
