Writers in Residence starting new semester

We will be starting a new semester of Writers in Residence. This is a writing workshop for adjudicated youth, who are a part of the Time to Invest Program, which is a diversion program. Heidelberg students will get to engage and participate in the workshop with the youth. They will also get a chance to lead the workshops, as the semester goes on. This is a really great way to get some experience engaging youth who have gotten into some trouble and may not be successful in traditional classrooms, while also providing HU students an opportunity to engage in their education, in a really positive

While HU students don’t get class credit for participation, they can get HYPE 400-level credits!

If you are interested, please email Dr. Sarah Lazzari at slazzari@heidelberg.edu and let her know that you are interested and your major/s/

You also need to fill out the volunteer application.

We will plan to get started on 1/26/23. The workshops will be on Thursdays from 12:30-1:45 p.m.. This is a semester-long commitment. You need to be prepared to attend the workshops every week. We will also choose the Heidelberg students based on who fills out the application first.

This is a really unique and exciting opportunity, and it is also a great addition to a resume.
