Heidelberg alum seeking summer intern
Haylie Robinson McDaniel, a 2015 alumna of the Communication & Media Department, is looking for an (unpaid) intern this summer. She will be filming several episodes of her PBS series, Finding Festivals, and is looking for some on-location assistance.
Finding Festivals is a travel genre series that uses annual events to educate PBS viewers on the humanities, including art, culture, history, and community traditions. The full 13-part series will air this fall on PBS affiliate WGTE and next Spring on WTGE and WOSU and made available to PBS affiliates throughout Ohio, Michigan, Indiana and Pennsylvania.
Below are the filming dates and locations:
- 5/11-5/13 - Holland, MI
- 6/8-6/9 - Frankenmuth, MI
- 6/11-6/14 - Mackinac Island, MI
- 7/5-7/9 - Traverse City, MI
- 7/13-7/15- Fort Wayne, IN
Dates are subject to change. Accommodations (shared with a crew member) and food will be provided.
Note that the selected intern needs to be confident in the skill sets needed (photography, social media content creation) and open to anything that can occur onset. Editing software isn’t required but will allow for an opportunity to expand this role into post-production projects. Filming days are long but full of fun, great connections and unexpected opportunities.
