Housing Selection Update

With the onset of the COVID-19 situation, the Housing Selection Process has been pushed back. After waiting for Fall Course Registration to officially open up, the Office of Residence Life & Housing has determined new dates for the Housing Selection Process to occur. These dates have been specifically selected because they occur after Finals and before and Summer Classes may have started. This is in an effort to ensure that you are able to focus on your academics prior to participating in the Housing Selection Process.

Below you will find new dates that will help you navigate the process. We have also updated the Housing Selection Guidebook with these new dates so that information online is also up to date.

Application Dates

Housing Applications Open in OASIS - Feb. 3

Registration for Fall Classes Opens - April 13

Lottery Registration Deadline - May 8

Notification Dates

Accommodation Acceptance Deadline - April 20

Themed Housing Acceptance Deadline - April 20

Off-Campus Acceptance Deadline - April 20

Commuter Acceptance Deadline - April 20

Housing Lottery Dates

Housing Lottery Day 1: Single Rooms - May 19

Housing Lottery Day 2: Apartments & Suites - May 20

Housing Lottery Day 3: Double Rooms - May 21

Housing Lottery Day 4: Individual Selection for Unmatched Students - May 22

While the most detailed information about how to navigate the Housing Selection Process is still located in the Housing Selection Guidebook, there are essentially three steps that you need to make sure you have completed to be sure you are eligible for the lottery. These need to be completed by Friday, May 8, 2020.

Step 1 – Complete the Returning Student Housing Application in OASIS

Step 2 – Clear all Holds, (Financial, Academic or Judicial)

Step 3 – Register for at least 12 Credit Hours

Students who meet these three criteria by May 8 will receive Lottery Selection Times and will be able to participate in the Housing Selection Process. Any student who does not complete these three items by that deadline will not receive a lottery selection time and cannot be chosen as a roommate until they have completed them. IMPORTANT NOTE: If a student completes these items after the May 8th date, they will be able to be chosen as a roommate, but they still will not receive a selection time, so they will only be able to be brought into a room and will not have able to select a room themselves.

Questions regarding Housing Selection should be directed to Area Coordinator Dennis LoConti at dloconti@heidelberg.edu. If you have questions, do not wait until the last minute to contact us. We are here to help you navigate the process and ensure that you are able to select a room for the upcoming year.
