Applying for CARES Act emergency relief funds

As previously announced, Heidelberg University has been granted funding from the U.S.  Department of Education under the CARES Act Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF). These funds are being designated to assist students who have experienced financial hardship brought on by the COVID-19 health crisis.

Any Heidelberg student who filed the 2019-20 FAFSA is eligible to apply for grant money to assist you with incurred expenses related to the COVID-19 pandemic including:

  • Rent and Housing
  • Food
  • Technology needs (computer, internet access, etc.)
  • Course materials
  • Medical expenses
  • Other expenses

If you have incurred a cost related to any of the above, please complete the HEERF application. Applications will be reviewed within 10 business days and you will be notified via Heidelberg email if funding is approved. The grant will be directly deposited to the bank account that has been set up in your OASIS account. We cannot apply this grant to any outstanding balance on your student account.

If your family has experienced a loss of income due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you can apply for additional funding by completing the Special Conditions Form and submitting to the Office of Financial Aid. Please email financial-aid@heidelberg.edu for questions regarding this form.
