Juneteenth Community Events

Juneteenth, a national holiday commemorating the end of slavery will be celebrated with special events Saturday, June 17 through Monday, June 19. Heidelberg University's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee is a co-sponsor of these events. 

The Heidelberg community is invited to participate in a series of events celebrating Juneteenth:

  • Saturday, June 17 5K -- Run/Walk starting at the Seneca County Commissioners Office, 141 Madison St, at 9:00 am
  • Saturday, June 17 -- Juneteenth Celebration at 7:00 pm followed by Liquid Crystal Project w/Dre Peace Concert at 8:00 pm at East Green Amphitheatre.
  • Sunday, June 18 -- Juneteenth Worship Celebration with Pastor Kris Johnson at 10:00 am at East Green Amphitheatre
  • Monday, June 19 -- Free Fish Fry Dinner at 6:00 pm at The Community Kitchen, 45 S. Washington St.
  • Hymnal Walk Exhibit Display highlighting Black hymn composers June 12-24 at the Tiffin-Seneca Library.

End-of-year inventory has been completed early.

You will start to see an increase in activity on campus in the upcoming days and weeks.

The bookstore will be closed for sales following Alumni Weekend through the 4th of July weekend as we conduct end-of-year inventory.
All Heidelberg faculty and staff are invited to attend an upcoming QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer) Suicide Prevention Training on Monday, May 18th at 11:00 AM in Herbster Chapel.
Alumni Weekend 2026, "Clue at the Berg: Sweet Alma Home Edition," is coming soon, and everyone is invited! Please consider joining us and/or volunteering to be part of our team from Friday, June 19, to Sunday, June 21, 2026.
