Juneteenth Community Events
June 8, 2023
Juneteenth, a national holiday commemorating the end of slavery will be celebrated with special events Saturday, June 17 through Monday, June 19. Heidelberg University's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee is a co-sponsor of these events.
The Heidelberg community is invited to participate in a series of events celebrating Juneteenth:
- Saturday, June 17 5K -- Run/Walk starting at the Seneca County Commissioners Office, 141 Madison St, at 9:00 am
- Saturday, June 17 -- Juneteenth Celebration at 7:00 pm followed by Liquid Crystal Project w/Dre Peace Concert at 8:00 pm at East Green Amphitheatre.
- Sunday, June 18 -- Juneteenth Worship Celebration with Pastor Kris Johnson at 10:00 am at East Green Amphitheatre
- Monday, June 19 -- Free Fish Fry Dinner at 6:00 pm at The Community Kitchen, 45 S. Washington St.
- Hymnal Walk Exhibit Display highlighting Black hymn composers June 12-24 at the Tiffin-Seneca Library.
