Operation Street Smart training
The campus community is invited to participate in Operation Street Smart, a training to provide current and up-to-date narcotics information on trends, terminology, paraphernalia, and physiological effects to those individuals who deal with populations struggling with addiction and today’s youth..
The Franklin County Sheriff's Office created Operation Street Smart in July 2002 as a way to take community oriented policing (COP) to a new level. Street Smart is a collaborative effort between D.A.R.E. and the Special Investigations Unit (SIU), which is the Sheriff's Office undercover narcotics branch.
This training is sponsored by the Department of Criminology, MAC, the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Seneca, Ottawa, Sandusky, and Wyandot Counties; and Heidelberg University Community Engagement Committee. It is a great training for people working with populations struggling with addictions, those who work with youth in schools, or those who plan to have a career in law enforcement.
Seating is limited. Please RSVP before 10/18/22
The training is from 9am-12pm on 10/21/22.
We will be meeting in Wickham Great Hall.
