Amsterdam trip offered again this spring

Drs. Nate Beres and Aaron Roerdink will be offering their international travel course, CHM 108 The Science of Art (2 semester hours), during the Spring 2018 semester. This course is open to all students with no prerequisites and carries Natural Science (N) and Global and Cultural Experience (G) general education attributes. The on-campus portion of the course will be offered on Wednesdays at 3 p.m. with the travel component to the Netherlands from May 14-May 25. Please note the dates of the of trip may change slightly to decrease costs.

While in the Netherlands, the majority of time will be spent in and near the capital, Amsterdam. There will be a couple of excursions to places in other parts of the Netherlands. While there we will visit conservators specialized in working with Rembrandt, Vermeer and van Gogh.  In addition, museums and historical sites will be visited. There is a course fee of $2,500 that covers all course and travel expenses except food. There will be 6 to 7 days of instruction/guided experiences and about 3 free days for students to explore.

If you would like more information about the course, locations to be visited or course reimbursement policies, please stop by either Dr. Beres’s office (Bareis Hall 116, nberes@heidelberg.edu) or Dr. Roerdink’s office (Bareis Hall 112, aroerdin@heidelberg.edu).
