Parkhurst launches reusable takeout program

Parkhurst Dining has launched a reusable takeout program at Hoernemann Refectory. The program, which is aimed at helping reduce our carbon footprint on the environment, will eliminate the use of Styrofoam for all take-out at Hoernemann, effective immediately.

Please read the following guidelines for the new take-out program. Hoernemann is an "all you care to eat” facility while you are staying in the dining facility. The take-out program can be used with only one of your meal swipes per day. Please leave your ID card with the cashier at the front desk while you fill your container.

• Students will be issued their first reusable take-out container. You must sign for it at the register when you receive your initial container.

• The reusable container may be brought back to Hoernemann and switched out with a clean container to be used the next time you are doing take-out. Or, a container card, with an authorized signature, will be issued for you to receive a take-out container next time you plan on using the program.

• If you lose the box, to get a new one, you must pay $5 refundable replacement fee. The money is refundable when the box is returned.

• You must have a receipt to receive your refund. No exceptions.

• You may only use the containers that Parkhurst provides.  Bringing your own containers or cups is not approved.

• Return to the front desk with your meal and one of our friendly associates will check you out, and return your ID card to you.

• Please do not place food items in your pockets. All items must be visible to the checker when you return to the front desk.

• You may only use 1 “anytime” swipe per day for a take-out meal.

• All take-out meals must be taken out. You are NOT permitted to eat in Hoernemann with a take-out meal.

• Take-out privileges can be revoked if these policies are not followed.
