Human trafficking survivor helps rescued victims

Human trafficking survivor Ann Marie Babb speaks at Heidelberg Wednesday.

No one is in a better position to help women rescued from sex trafficking than Ann Marie Babb. Babb suffered through a 10-year nightmare of horrific abuse when she was trafficked as a young girl. Today, she's not going to be silenced. The keynote speaker in the Human Trafficking Awareness Week shared her personal story Wednesday. For all she endured, Babb remains grateful for the experiences and the journey, which she said define her. As a survivor, she's uniquely positioned to help trafficking victims get the services they need. As part of her purpose, she encourages people to educate themselves and others about trafficking and report any activity they think is suspicious. "Even if one woman, one girl is saved, it's worth it," she said.
