Chem, Biochem co-sponsoring symposium

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry and Chem Club, in conjunction with the Student Chapter of the American Chemical Society at The University of Toledo and the ACS Club of the University of Findlay, are sponsoring the Glass City Symposium on February 17 from 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. in the Driscoll Center on The University of Toledo's campus. The event will share some of the rich history of the glass industry and why Toledo is known as the Glass City. Speakers from local companies such as Owens Corning and Libbey Inc. will speak about their technology/processes and products. Presentations by a glass artist are also on the schedule for the day. The student chapter of the ACS at University of Toledo has done extensive planning for the symposium. Lunch will be included and the symposium is free to attend. Interested parties may register for the symposium by contacting Dr. Nate Beres.

The Glass City Symposium is partially funded through an ACS Inter-Chapter Relations Grant between the Student ACS Chapters of Heidelberg University (advisor Dr. Nate Beres), The University of Toledo (advisor Edith Kippenhan) and The University of Findlay (advisor Dr. Joanna Beres).
