’Berg pre-vet students gain industry insight at regional conference
A group of Heidelberg pre-veterinary students attended the annual Midwest Veterinary Conference in Columbus on Friday and Saturday. They were greeted at the conference by alumni vets Drs. Frank Krupka ’94 and Andrea Russell ’19, accompanied by their ‘Berg biology professor, Dr. Pam Faber
This large regional conference supports continuing education for veterinarians and their staff, and animal shelter workers. The Heidelberg students chose from groupings of sessions on Team Building, Public Health, Practice Management, Employee Wellness, Animal Behavior, Holistic Medicine, Surgery, Anesthesia, and Pain Management, among others.
In addition to educational sessions, students attended a special luncheon during which they networked with current veterinary students and practicing vets. While visiting the exhibit hall, they learned about new technologies, equipment, and services available to veterinarians.
Students who attended were: Breeanna Johnston, Caitlyn Cross, Chase Ramirez, Morgan Franklin, Jordan Letner, McKenzie Wohlford and Sophia Simon.
