'The Power of Music' at local library

Symphony Storytime on Monday at the Tiffin-Seneca Public Library featured “The Power of Music” and special guests from Heidelberg and Tiffin Columbian High School.

Dr. Elizabeth Tracy, director of the Community Music School at Heidelberg, provided entertainment for the music-themed storytime. She read books about music, talked about jazz, and encouraged students to find the music within themselves.

Elizabeth was joined by junior education major Erika Warnke, who demonstrated the English horn, and Kennedy Lachner, a sophomore at Columbian, who performed a number of Gershwin songs. Kennedy also spoke about how she has been studying and performing with the Community Music School.

At the end of the program, Elizabeth, Erika and Kennedy came together to perform a song for the children and families in attendance.
