Senior presents at political science conference

Colin Higgins presents his research at political science conference in Washington, D.C., recently.

Senior Colin Higgins presented his paper, Battling a Culture of Impunity: Probable Solutions for Gender-Based Violence in Post-Conflict African Societies, at the at the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society undergraduate research conference in Washington, D.C. Colin also was part of a Comparative Politics panel with a wide variety of different paper topics.

"The panel discussion was a great opportunity to discuss a whole host of ideas with peers, and it was great to be able to 'geek out' with other political science students in the nation's capital. We covered everything from the light and dark side of globalization to what the true catalysts of change are, as well as discussing each other's work," he said.

The panel discussant, Fabiana Perera, a doctoral candidate at George Washington University, also provided the students with incredible feedback. Colin will be working on the feedback he received at the Pi Sigma Alpha conference, and will be presenting his paper at the Minds at Work Student Research Conference on April 5.
