You can call her Dr. Erwin!

Chief Human Resources Officer Leslie Erwin is no quitter. Make that DR. Leslie Erwin.

After seven long years that included changing schools and navigating through a pandemic, Leslie has earned her Doctorate in Education in Higher Education Administration.

Leslie started her doctoral journey in 2015 at Concordia University and took a two-semester break to earn a graduate certificate in Higher Education Compliance from the University of Toledo College of Law. She resumed her doctoral program in 2018 and had just received IRB approval to begin data collection in early 2020 when Concordia announced its closing in April of that year. Then the pandemic hit.

Amidst all of that chaos, Leslie transferred schools so she could stay the course, but she admits that at times, it was very challenging.

“I don’t’ start things without finishing them, and this was no different, even though I had some detours along the way,” she says.

She completed her Ed.D. at Northcentral University in San Diego and successfully defended her dissertation last week. Her dissertation topic was A Phenomenological Interview Study of Nursing Faculty Experience with Pregnant Student Policy Implementation.

Huge congrats, Dr. Erwin!
