MAC students meet with legislators

More than 20 students in the Master of Arts in Counseling program traveled to Columbus to participate in the Ohio Counseling Association's Legislative Advocacy Day

On Tuesday, more than 20 students in the Master of Arts in Counseling program traveled to Columbus to participate in the Ohio Counseling Association's Legislative Advocacy Day.

The students met with various legislators, including Tiffin's state rep, Bill Reineke. Discussion topics included school counselors having a defined job description, meeting national standards of 1:250 school counselor-to-student ratios, parity across professional service, reimbursement from Medicaid, and language in Gov. Mike DeWin'es upcoming proposed budget.

MAC faculty members Dr. DoHee Kim-Appel and Meagan McBride also attended the event in Columbus.
