Student commencement speakers selected

Congratulations to Hannah Griffith and Emily Nolting, who have been selected to represent their senior class with remarks at the Student Awards Celebration on April 27 and Commencement on May 13, respectively.

Emily’s tentative title for her speech is Finding Your Pulse. Her theme will be about looking back on milestones and realizing they wouldn’t have happened without a community to call home, and the ways the community – Heidelberg – has taught graduating seniors everything they need to go out and jump into life. She is president of Zeta Theta Psi and is a member of the honoraries Tau Pi Phi (business) and Delta Phi Alpha (German). A business administration and economics major, Emily also is in the Honors Program, German Club and a member of the Dean’s Student Advisory Board.

Hannah has titled her speech Two Million Minutes – about the time students spend at Heidelberg by the time they graduate. She will reflect on strangers who become friends and family, all of the memories made here and the challenges along the way. A communication major, Hannah is president of Delta Sigma Chi and also is active in Student Senate and Rho Eta Delta Rhos Bud. She is a student ambassador manager in the Admission Office, editor-in-chief of The Kilikilik and a member of Berg Events Council.

Additionally, graduating Master of Arts in Education student Nicholas A. Benjamin has been selected by the Education faculty to represent graduate students with remarks during Commencement.
