Announcement that a Chipotle Mexican Grill is coming to Tiffin wasn’t the only big and great news at the Seneca Industrial and Economic Development Corp. annual dinner Thursday night.

SIEDC’s staff managed to pull off a big surprise when they recognized Rob Huntington with the President’s Award.

Rob certainly was in good company with the other 2016 SIEDC award winners: Bill Reineke Sr., the Lifetime Achievement Award; Bill Auxter, director of the Small Business Development Center at Terra State Community College, the Partnership in Development Award; Denny and Julie Kerschner of Tiffin Insulator Co., the Entrepreneurial Spirit Award; Taiho Corp. of America, the Economic Development Award; and Varsity Barber Shop and owners Mike and Joe Blust, the Chair’s Award.

In announcing the President’s award, David Zak, president and CEO of SIEDC, said it honors the leadership of an individual "who has gone above and beyond in promoting the mission of the organization."

Rob is concluding his three-year term as chair of SIEDC’s Board of Trustees. He will be transitioning to a new role as vice chair.

Congratulations, Rob!
