Community Music School adds Youth Orchestra

The Heidelberg Youth Orchestra performs in Brenneman.

The new Heidelberg Youth Orchestra, an initiative through the Community Music School, gave its final concert of the year on Saturday, April 23, at 1:30 p.m. The students playing in the orchestra ranged in grades from 4th through 12th and played a variety of interesting music. The orchestra was divided into two groups: the String Ensemble and the String Orchestra (for more advanced players). The orchestra played some new music that was purchased with a donation from Berg Bravo! Friends of Heidelberg University School of Music & Theatre.

Several Heidelberg students and adult community members assisted the director, Cassandra Bryant, in coaching the students as they rehearsed each Saturday morning in Brenneman Music Hall.

Any students who might be interested in playing in either ensemble in the future should contact Cassandra at cb@cassandrabryant.com. We look forward to expanding the orchestra's numbers, abilities and performances in the upcoming year!
