Senior's accounting paper takes first place
Congratulations to graduating senior Johanna Becker, who recently learned that her paper, The Effects of Virtual Currencies and Blockchain on Accounting, has been awarded first place in the Ohio Region of the American Accounting Association undergraduate student manuscript competition.
Johanna will be awarded a plaque and $500 during a dinner at the Ohio Region Meeting in Columbus on May 12. Dr. Maef Woods was her faculty sponsor.
Johanna also recently received a Certified Management Accountant Scholarship, which covers membership in the Institute of Management Accountants for up to three years while she completes the CMA exam, entrance fees to the CMA program and registration fees for both parts of the exam, and Wiley's CMAexcel Review Course. She plans to begin studying for the CMA exam prior to starting her job as a financial analyst at Cummins after graduation.
