Coffee, talk, music, poetry on the topic of feminism

Along with their professor, Dr. Julie O'Reilly (far left), students Gabby Ford, Allie Healy, Devon Jester, Aly Johnson, Cheyane Thacker, Denise Bowes and Danielle Wolf co-sponsored the coffee night.

Last Wednesday, Dr. Julie O'Reilly's Gender Theory class co-sponsored a coffee night with BEC at Bailiwicks. The coffee house was titled We Should All Be Feminists, named after Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's book and TEDTalk by the same name. The students read passages from Adichie's book, showed segments of her TEDTalk and led discussion on issues related to feminism in between musical and poetry performances by Kate Ross, Enya Granados, Rachel Peters and Gaby Poliseno. BEC provided free coffee for attendees.
