MAC hosts virtual induction, awards ceremony

On Saturday, May 2, a total of 27 Master of Arts in Counseling students met the requirements and were inducted as new members in Heidelberg’s chapter of the honorary Chi

Chi Sigma Iota is the counseling academic and professional honor society international. Members are committed to maintaining high standards of professional competence and service. The organization’s is to serve others to the best of their ability and to encourage others to do the same as members of the counseling profession. Members of the society have distinguished themselves through scholarship and professional excellence which is exemplary. 

In addition to these 27 exemplary students, a new Executive Board was inducted for the upcoming school year. The new leaders are:

President: Nella Blackford

Vice President: Charita Phillips

Secretary: Kaitlyn Bilsing

Treasurer: Katrina Walton

Clinical Representative: Craig Haines

School Counseling Rep: Kaitlin Chrisman

The event was this chapter's first virtual event and had more than 50 students, family and faculty in attendance. The outgoing board – Mo Stohlman, Quinn Sparks, Courtney Hughes Ksenich, Joya Haithcock, Autumn Crawford, Alisa Fry and Morgan Spradlin – pivoted from having a seated, catered banquet fully planned, to a cancelled event, to a virtual event in a matter of weeks. It was wonderful to celebrate the many accomplishments of the year, and induct new honor society members.
