PURSUITS: Week of May 15, 2017

Dr. Justin Pruneski (biology) had an original piece of science education curriculum published in the online Case Collection at the National Center for Case Study Teaching in Science. The peer-reviewed publication is a case study titled What Should the Victor Do with the Vanquished? Deciding the Fate of Smallpox, which was developed to help students learn about the biology, history and ethics of smallpox by engaging them in the debate about whether frozen stocks of the virus should be retained or destroyed.  The case was published with accompanying teaching notes and an answer key, so other instructors can implement it in their courses.
