Record 60 student-athletes earn Academic All-OAC honors

WESTERVILLE, Ohio -- A record 60 Heidelberg University student-athletes received Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference accolades, as announced by the league on Thursday. The number of 2024 honorees surpassed the previous 55, set in 2018. For the 2023-24 school year, a total of 124 'Berg student-athletes earned Academic All-OAC laurels, besting the previous HU record by one, set last year.  

The Heidelberg contingent was led by 15 honorees from the baseball team while the softball team added 12 selections.  Men's golf had 11 of their 12 eligible players named on the list. Women's track landed 10 while men's track and men's lacrosse each had five. Women's golf rounded out the selections with two. Though it is not a sanctioned OAC sport, STUNT had three athletes meet the criteria, as listed below*.

To earn Academic All-OAC honors, a student-athlete must earn a 3.495+ cumulative grade point average through the semester completed prior to the start of the season. Additionally, individuals must be varsity players and have completed one full year at Heidelberg prior to the start of the season.
