MAC raising awareness about inclusion
Graduate counseling student Autumn Crawford took the lead in planning and organizing an event in downtown Tiffin to raise awareness about racism and to create a community of inclusion and solidarity.
Autumn organized Chalk It Up for Black Lives Matter on Sunday, June 14. She shared resources for those in attendance, encouraging participants to chalk words of encouragement and inclusion to help amplify black voices. Resources also were available to those in attendance. and resources to support and help amplify black voices.
Participating in the event were Heidelberg professors Sarah Lizzari (criminology), DoHee Kim-Appel (graduate counseling) and Meagan McBride (graduate counseling). Autumn was joined by fellow graduate students Michael Rizzi, Stephanie Cluck and Niles Nall, recent ‘Berg grad Samantha Bensman and Courtney Hughes Ksenich, and a passionate group of community members.
