Dr. Sarah Lazzari (Criminology, Sociology) is the lead author of an article titled Peer Mentors as Prison Volunteers: Building Bridges Between Institutions and Communities, published in the International Journal of Offender Therapy and Comparative Criminology.

Sarah worked on the article with Brooke Franz ’22 and some colleagues Caleb Lloyd, Cole Higley and Ralph Serin. Brooke had used the data presented in the article as part of her Senior Honors project. Then the pair expanded upon the date for the paper, which they also presented at the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences in March 2023.

Dr. Doug Kane (Ecology, NCWQR) recently presented Land Use Effects on Chloride in Ohio Rivers: Further Support for the Freshwater Salinization Syndrome at the Ecological Society of America annual meeting in Portland, Ore. Co-authors for this talk included Drs. Nathan Manning and Laura Johnson (NCWQR) and Dr. Stephen Jacquemin from Wright State University-Lake Campus.

During the same week, Laura, Jakob Boehler and Austin Nainiger (NCWQR) attended the annual Soil and Water Conservation Society meeting in Des Moines, Iowa. Laura presented a poster titled Assessing the Field and Watershed Scale Impacts of Conservation Practices in the Blanchard River Watershed as part of the 20th anniversary NRCS-CEAP Watershed Assessment Showcase featuring projects throughout the United States.
