MBA students give capstone presentations
The School of Business hosted capstone presentations from students in the Aris Kaplanis MBA Program Tuesday night. Four teams of students gave poster presentations based on class projects in two classes taught by Jim Hill: Competition and Strategy and Operations Management.
There were two aspects to the poster presentations – a National Machinery project and a Business Strategy Game project. During the presentations, the teams were interviewed by business professionals from National Machinery, SIEDC, the Berg Business Board, ‘Berg faculty, President Rob Huntington and Provost Beth Schwartz.
Two of the four teams also gave an oral presentation during which they discussed their engagement in a global simulation exercise called the Business Strategy Game. For the project, they were assigned to operate an athletic footwear company that produces and markets both branded and private-label footwear under the auspices of the simulation.
One of the teams, according to Dean Haseeb Ahmed, achieved the distinction of being ranked among the top 10 in the world. In all, more than 14,000 graduate students participated. They were organized into 5,662 companies from 230 universities in 36 countries.
