Faculty Pursuits: Week of Sept. 19, 2022

Dr. Aaron Roerdink (Chemistry) recently accompanied Alyssa Derr, Hannah Huthmaker, Kirsten Kracht and Morgan Sweat to the American Chemical Society Meeting in Chicago. The students spent the summer conducting research with Dr. Aaron Roerdink and Dr. Nate Beres as an extension of the Aigler Grant work. The students presented two projects, “Development of a Cross-Disciplinary Case Study for Use in a Biochemistry and/or Instrumental Analysis Classroom” and “Investigating Meldonium and Trimetazidine as Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs) by Olympic Athletes.”

The Chem Club, under the direction of Dr. Nate Beres (Chemistry), received an Outstanding Award from the American Chemical Society (ACS). ACS highlighted the group's professional development activities as well as their service.
