Honors students lend assist at Candidates Night

Honors students Allison Blythe, Katherine Bauman and Cassey Bolyard assisted admirably during the League of Women Voters Candidates Night Wednesday at Tiffin Middle School. In their volunteer roles, the three students took an active role in keeping the transitions of candidates flowing smoothly and making guests feel comfortable.

“Allison, Cassey and Katherine represented Heidelberg in the most professional way,” said League rep Cassandra Collar, who served on the Candidates Night Planning Committee. Candidates Night sponsors were The Advertiser-Tribune, Heidelberg, Tiffin University, Seneca Regional Chamber of Commerce & Visitor Services and the League of Women Voters.

Candidates Night had another Heidelberg connection. Dr. Meagan McBride was a featured candidate, answering questions in her quest for election to the Tiffin City Board of Education.

Honors Program Director Dr. Emily Isaacson said Candidates Night is one of a number of increasing opportunities for students to be more visible in the community. Last month, several ’Berg students volunteered with the Behind the Façade tour of campus.
