UAM announces staff addition, promotion

UAM Vice President Phil Ness has announced that Rick Sherlock will become the new director of Branding and Marketing on Monday, Dec. 4.

Rick brings 26 years of experience in higher education marketing, media and communication to this key position in University Advancement & Marketing.Most recently, he has served as Senior Director of Marketing and Communications at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania. He also served in similar capacities at Cuyahoga Community College and Oberlin College.
 
"We are fortunate to bring on board someone with Rick’s broad skill set in brand strategy, marketing management, integrated communications and creative direction to lead our marketing, branding and communication efforts as we work together to build sustainable enrollment growth," Phil said. "When you get the chance to interact with him, I’m certain you will find him to be a strong leader, a strategic thinker and a great team builder."

Sue Berryman

Additionally, he announced that Sue Berryman, who joined the Heidelberg family in September 2012, has been promoted to director of The Heidelberg Fund. Sue assumed those responsibilities about a month ago, following the departure of Katie McCrystal, who accepted a position at George Washington University. Most recently, Sue served as assistant director of Alumni Engagement, coordinating various alumni events and communications. As Heidelberg Fund director, she will oversee the operation of the annual fund with its goal this year to raise $1.1 million.
