Brock Riggs, 2017 Piesman Trophy finalist
UPDATE: Brock Riggs has been named one of the three finalists for the Piesman Trophy! Brock will travel to New York City, along with the other two finalists, for the presentation of the award on Friday, December 8 at 6:30 p.m. The ceremony will be streamed live on SB Nation.
Since Heidelberg's final football game of the season, one unsuspecting player has generated a ton of attention on national TV and social media, and it may not be over yet!
In the fourth quarter of the Senior Day game, quarterback Tyler Stoyle connected with receiver Demetrius Magee, who flipped the ball to senior offensive lineman Brock Riggs. Brock then somersaulted into the end zone on the successful hook-and-lateral. It was a play for the ages. Heidelberg defeated Capital 63-20 but that was just the beginning of it all for Brock. As a result of that play, he is as a nominee for the 2017 Piesman presented by SB Nation. The award was created to honor the best throw, catch or run by a lineman in college football. Finalists for the award will be announced later this week.
Do your part! Vote Brock Riggs for the Piesman Trophy.
