'Berg, NCWQR represent at water management meeting

Dr. Doug Kane’s Limnology class (ENS 491) recently attended the 2024 Water Management Association of Ohio Annual Meeting, where students were exposed to presentations on a variety of water-related topics, as well as being able to network with potential employers.

At the meeting, Doug gave a presentation titled Monitoring the Muskingum Watershed: Samplepalooza 2024 and Beyond with co-authors from the NCWQR, Ohio EPA, USGS and Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District. 

Emma Rettig, a sophomore Biochemistry major and NCWQR Baker Scholar, presented the poster What is the Equilibrium Phosphorus Concentration in H2Ohio Wetland Sediments? based on her summer research. Further, Kelly Peterson, a senior Environmental Science major, presented her Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU), conducted at The Ohio State University’s F.T. Stone Laboratory with a poster titled The Bioavailability of Colloidal Dissolved Reactive Phosphorus in the Maumee River. Finally, another Baker Scholar, Jihae Dick, a student at Ashland University, won second place poster for her research on H2Ohio wetland plant communities, conducted with the NCWQR.
