Education students visit Liberty Arts Magnet School

On Nov. 29, upperclassmen in Dr. Nichole Griffin's EDU 310 Intro to Conceptual Methods class visited Heidelberg Education alumnus David Haberman '99 at Liberty Arts Magnet School in Lima, Ohio, where David serves as the assistant principal.

Liberty Arts Magnet School offers students vocal/instrumental music, art, drama and dance, all integrated into the curriculum. There are multiple performance groups in which they participate, including the Touring Company, Show Choir and Steel Drum in the immersive experience.

These heidelberg preservice teachers had an opportunity to tour the creative learning space, from sensory rooms to the SOAR space as well as engage with students and teachers in grades 4-8 classrooms.

The day ended with David answering students' questions and discussing the unique learning opportunities at Liberty Arts Magnet.
