'Another 32 years would be just fine with me'

Multi-talented biology professor Dr. Ken Baker strums his way into retirement.

Weeks tick by,

Semesters fly,

So do students, by and by

Another 32 years would be just fine with me.

Those were the words to Baker's Retirement, 8 X 4, delightfully performed during a guitar solo by retiring biology professor Dr. Ken Baker during Tuesday's Faculty & Staff Retirement Reception. Along with Ken, Heidelberg also honored retiring faculty members Dr. David Bush (anthropology), Dr. John Bing (political science) and Dr. Doug Collar (English, Honors). In all, those four contributed 110 years of service to Heidelberg, according to President Rob Huntington. Department/Division chairs Dr. Amy Berger, Dr. Vicki Ohl and Dr. Marc O'Reilly shared recollections and appreciation for their colleagues. Doug was unable to attend.

Also honored were retired staff members Nancy King (Academic Affairs), Robert Lyman (Krammes Service Center), Ginny Mesnard (Enrollment Management) and Ann Winegardner (Krammes). Rod Morrison shared expressions of appreciation to Robert and Ann for their years of service. Nancy and Ginny were unable to attend.

Farewell and best wishes to retirees (L-R) Robert Lyman, Dave Bush, Ken Baker, Ann Winegardner and John Bing.
