RISE seeks faculty/staff Champions

The Multicultural Student Affairs Office is seeking faculty and staff members who would like to volunteer to serve as champions for underrepresented first-year and second-year students through the new RISE program.

RISE, which stands for Reaffirming Identity through Scholarly Enrichment, was launched this semester as one of two key initiatives of the Multicultural Student Affairs Office. RISE aims to build co-ethnic groups of students with similar backgrounds and experiences who come together to support one another. The group plans regular activities, workshops and discussions on relevant academic and out-of-class topics, toward a goal of building a community.

As RISE Champions, faculty and staff members would serve as resources for students in challenging situations.

If you are interested in becoming a RISE Champion, please contact Cherrelle Gardner, director of Multicultural Student Affairs, at cgardner@heidelberg.edu or x2412.
