POW!: Football and faculty unite

While many at Heidelberg work with student-athletes on a daily basis, not all get the chance to spend a day (or week) in their shoes. Beginning at the start of the 2017 season, the football team is giving that opportunity to lucky faculty and staff members. Both faculty and staff who teach classes are eligible to receive the Professor of the Week honor. Nothing football related is off limits to the recipient. Designed to increase communication between faculty and athletics, Head Coach Scott Donaldson explains the Professor of the Week initiative this way: "We thought this was a great way to increase the faculty's understanding of what the student-athlete at Heidelberg goes through on a daily basis."

Football players selected Dr. Traci Sittason Stark as the first Professor of the Week. Last week, it was Dr. Bryan Smith's turn. This week, Dr. Robin Heaton gets the honors.
